Letting go is the motto of the month. Not just “any” letting go, but specifically letting go of “making mistakes”. It is truly impossible to express oneself through art without the willingness to MAKE MISTAKES!!!! But I caught myself, and on more than one occasion, wanting to lay down a line of ink, or scribble in graphite or permanently commit a questionable element to a piece …. and simply FROZE. Couldn’t do it… understanding full well, that not breaking though this impass — would make it impossible to get to the gold!
So this week, I braved and struggled and let go a little.
Death did not occur… Perfection is over rated and impossible anyway, and letting go released an unimaginable energy of FREEDOM that I haven’t felt since I was 17… and that felt amazing.
